Becoming a motorhome enthusiast for fifteen years now, I've consistently dreamt of that extended trip of ten weeks or so in Slovenia. Getting a self employed barman, I lastly realised that I was in a position to make this dream a reality. My wife Tracy and our faithful dog Oscar were more than willing to be travel partners on this trip of a lifetime. So soon after significantly investigation, preparing and packing we were lastly on the road to Slovenia.
My motorhome is a two year old six berth, low profile CI with a Mercedes Sprinter engine and our previous longest trip was a ten night trip to Scotland, covering 1000 kilometres. This trip began with a smooth ferry trip, to take us to the continent, followed by a pleasant but lengthy road journey to our destination.
We decided to make four overnight stops on our way there and these had been primarily in campsites, which suited us perfectly, as it broke up our journey. One feature of the journey was discovering the local fuel prices especially consistent, but surely less costly than we have been utilized to at home. Our Garmin satellite navigation method was handy to have, though standard maps are a should on a journey of this sort. In fact we used maps mostly for navigation and the sat nav to identify nearby beaches.
On arrival at our destination, our initially impressions had been satisfactory. The substantial, family run campsite clearly had pretty much all the amenities we necessary and was incredibly like the pictures in the on the net brochure that we had viewed in our preparation. For a web site with 3 hundred or so pitches, we located the staff rather useful and the web site was quite quiet even for the duration of the evening.
The weather was incredibly superb, taking into consideration that we travelled in June. The nearby market place every Friday was a fantastic source of fruit, vegetables, meat and cheeses. The overall encounter was an eventful 1 and I would thoroughly suggest a motorhome holiday at Slovenia.
